Lelani is an aspiring singer-songwriter from Los Angeles. For years, she has worked to express herself through lyrics and melodies in order to share her passion of music with the world. Her music is a soulful rock fusion of heartfelt melodies with hard hitting guitar riffs. Lelani’s songs display the emotional rollercoasters in the light and dark sides of life.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Music has always been a huge part of her life. It was constantly played around the house during her early childhood. Artists from Motown like Stevie Wonder, The Jacksons, Smokey Robinson, jazz artists like Miles Davis and Sarah Vaughn and even the rhythmic sounds of latin music like Tito Puente. At the age of 7, her mother took her to her first concert, The Jacksons Victory Tour at Dodgers Stadium. From that concert, she knew that is where she wanted to be, on stage performing music. As Lelani grew older, she spent numerous hours shut in her room listening to her parent’s vinyl record collection and studying the lyrics to some her favorite songs by artists such as Anita Baker, Sade, Michael Jackson, Prince, The Doors, Elton John, The Rolling Stones and much of the music of Motown. Inevitably, she began writing and composing her own music at the age of 10, after a family friend gave her a keyboard. In 1988, at a time when most of her peers were listening to R&B and Hip Hop acts, she heard Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns N’ Roses on the radio and fell in love with not only the band, but the genre of Hard Rock. Most of her teen years were then spent listening to other Hard Rock groups like Metallica, Motley Crue, AC/DC, and The Cult. This music would be another major influence in Lelani’s songwriting.

Today, she is reigniting her desire to perform her music. She is taking time to collaborate with several other talented musicians to bring her dream of performing her songs in front of a crowd to life.
