How POPROCKZ LIVE Works

1. Song Submissions – Singers

After each show, singers receive an email inviting them to submit song requests for the upcoming event(s).

Singers should submit at least three song options per event through the website form. In some cases, we may request submissions for multiple events, so please make sure to submit enough options accordingly.

In the submission form you can also:
• Suggest preferred time slots
• List musicians you would like to play with (make sure they include your song in their instrumentalist submissions)
• Add important notes, such as a specific version of the song

Submitting multiple songs gives us the flexibility to build the strongest lineup possible.

2. Song Selection & Scheduling

After submissions close, the producers review and vote on the song selections. The final lineup is created based on the submissions, musician availability, and overall balance of the show.

Once finalized, the lineup and time slots are posted on the public lineup sheet.

3. Instrumentalist Submissions

Once the singer lineup is finalized, instrumentalists will receive an email inviting them to submit the songs they would like to perform.

Instrumentalists should submit 3–5 songs in order of preference through the website form. This allows us to accommodate as many musicians as possible while balancing the lineup.

For each song, instrumentalists should indicate:
• The instrument(s) they want to play
• Any relevant notes

Please note that you may not be selected for every song you request. When multiple musicians submit for the same song, we review availability, preferences, and lineup balance. Your submission WILL NOT automatically show up in the public setlist, we review ALL submissions and assign slots manually!

4. Band Formation & Group Communication

As instrumentalists are confirmed, the lineup is updated on the public sheet.

Once a song has enough confirmed musicians, a group email / message thread will be created so the band can connect, coordinate parts, and prepare for the performance.

This is where musicians should discuss:
• Song structure
• Key or arrangement changes
• Who starts the song
• Instrument roles and cues
Preparing ahead of time helps the performance run smoothly on stage.

5. Final Preparation & Show Day

Please arrive early and make sure you check in with one of the producers or a stage manager when you arrive.

Stay aware of the show progression and be ready before the song preceding yours finishes. Musicians should tune up, coordinate quickly with their bandmates, and be prepared to start the performance when called.

Being organized and prepared helps keep the show running smoothly and ensures a better experience for both the audience and the musicians.

POPROCKZ LIVE is built on collaboration, preparation, and respect for the stage. By following this process, we can continue growing the community while delivering great live performances.

POPROCKZ LIVE – Musician Agreement & Performance Guidelines

Song Submissions

Only singers can submit song requests, but the final lineup is selected with the musicians in mind as well. Please include multiple song options when submitting and only submit songs you are comfortable performing. This gives us the flexibility to build the best lineup for everyone involved.

Show Eligibility & Slot Assignment

New performers must first perform at Hotel Ziggy before being eligible to perform at Lucky Strike shows. For both shows, all newcomers are assigned either the opening or closing slots. Please make sure you are comfortable with this before submitting or accepting a performance slot.

Communication & Commitment

With many musicians involved, communication can sometimes be challenging. That’s why we implemented the online messaging system to help keep everyone informed. When you commit to a performance slot, you have a responsibility to your fellow musicians to show up as planned. If you decide not to participate without reasonable notice, you may not be eligible to perform at future shows. Please communicate clearly and respect the commitment you make to the group.

Arrival & Check-In

We try to check in everyone when we see you arrive, but sometimes we may miss someone or you might be new. Please find one of the show producers or one of your bandmates and let them know that you have arrived (we will be implementing a formal check-in system in the near future). You should also be in the green room at least 10 minutes before your song. The show may run slightly ahead or behind schedule, so please pay attention to the songs that are close to yours and be ready when it’s your turn.

Stage Conduct

Please avoid noodling or making unnecessary noise on your instruments while on stage. This forces sound engineers to mute lines during transitions and creates delays and extra work for them. It is also distracting to both the audience and fellow musicians. Only do a quick line check and play when it is your time to perform or when the band is actively starting the song. For guitarists, we use the same pedal configuration at all our shows. If you need to quickly check something, please lower your volume to a minimum.

Band Coordination Before Going On Stage

Coming on stage and gathering in the middle to figure out what song you’re playing or who is starting the song is not acceptable. These decisions must be made before stepping on stage. Use the group chat created for your band to coordinate ahead of time. Please come prepared and ready to start.

Song Structure & Timing

Please stay reasonably close to the original song structure unless your band has coordinated changes in advance. Avoid extended solos or major arrangement changes unless everyone involved is aware beforehand. Songs should generally stay around 5 minutes or less. If a song is expected to run over the 5-minute mark, please get pre-approval from the producers so we can keep the show on schedule. If there are key changes, arrangement changes, or other adjustments, make sure they are clearly confirmed by the entire band before going on stage. Messages can sometimes be missed, especially if changes happen last minute, so please ensure everyone involved is aware and ready.

Musical Preparation

The cues and progressions are the backbone of every song. Everyone must listen carefully and follow them during the performance. If you are not confident performing a song, please let us know or skip that one until you are comfortable. Preparation helps ensure that everyone on stage performs confidently and that the band sounds tight together.

Instrument Roles

Please sign up for the role you are prepared to perform. • Guitar 1 (G1) – Lead guitar parts • Guitar 2 (G2) – Rhythm or acoustic guitar • Keys – Be prepared to play the primary keyboard parts or coordinate with the other musicians about how to split them • Drums – Know the tempo and progression, as the drummer drives the song

Equipment & Technical Requests

If you require additional equipment such as wireless microphones, wireless monitors, or special instruments (horns, violin, etc.), please let us know ahead of time so we can coordinate with the sound engineers. This helps avoid delays during transitions and keeps the show running smoothly.

By participating in POPROCKZ LIVE events, you acknowledge and agree to follow these guidelines so we can maintain a professional, organized, and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in removal from the lineup or ineligibility for future events.
