How do I sign up for the POPROCKZ Collective?
Go to the registration page and choose one of these options:
Fill in the form with your email and password
Click Continue with Google or Continue with Facebook
Or use your personal email & pick a username (you can link socials later)
After submitting, your account is created but stays pending until an admin approves you.
Why do I need to be approved first?
POPROCKZ is a curated musician community. Approval helps:
Keep fake accounts and spam out
Ensure members are real musicians
Protect privacy and keep things relevant to POPROCKZ JAM
Until approved, some features stay limited.
When will I show up in the Members Directory?
You appear only after admin approval.
Before approval: you can still log in and edit your profile.
After approval: your profile becomes visible and members can find/message you.
How do I log in after registering?
Use the same method you signed up with:
Email + password
Google login
Facebook login
If one method glitches on your device, just use another.
How do I edit my profile?
Log in
Go to My Profile
Click Edit Profile
Update:
Name / artist name
Instruments
Genres
Short bio
Socials & links
Location
Save changes
You can update anytime; it takes effect instantly.
Who can see my profile?
Only verified POPROCKZ Members:
Profiles are not public
Your email is never shown
Members only see display info (name, instruments, etc.)
How do I search for other musicians?
Go to the Members Directory. You can:
Search by name
Filter by instrument, role, or other fields
Click a profile card for full details
Perfect for finding singers, guitarists, keys, drummers, etc.
What is the Messages / private messaging feature?
It’s the Collective’s built-in chat system:
Send private messages
No emails shared
All conversations stay on the POPROCKZ site
How do I send a private message?
Visit the Members Directory or a member’s profile
Click Message
A chat window opens
Continue the conversation from your Messages / Inbox section
What are group chats (song groups)?
These are shared conversations created for:
Songs you’re booked on
Jam-night lineups
Specific projects or rehearsals
Everyone on the same song can coordinate parts, keys, cues, etc.
Can I start my own group chat?
Maybe.
Depending on permissions, members may be able to start group chats.
If you don’t see the option yet, it’s still admin-only.
Do I get email notifications?
Yes. You’ll get an email when:
You receive a new private message
You’re added to a group chat
Important conversations are updated
You reply on the site, not by email.
Can I turn off notifications?
Some notification settings may be available in your Account / Settings.
If not yet visible, they’re being simplified and added soon.
Do I have to use Messages?
No.
Messages let you connect safely without exposing your email/phone.
If you both feel comfortable, you can move to IG, phone, etc.
Why don’t I see any group chats yet?
Because group chats appear only when:
You’re assigned to a song
You’re added to a project
You’re placed in a jam lineup
New members usually see only private messages at first.
Can non-members message me?
No.
Only verified POPROCKZ Members can message you.
Nothing comes from outside the site.
What if I forget my password?
Go to the login page
Click Forgot Password
Enter your email
Follow the reset link you receive
If you signed up with Google or Facebook, just log in with that account again.
